Gregg County Jail

Pre-sentencing

Interview with Micah

JM: Tell us about the pre-sentencing process:
Micah: I was on probation for theft and got a DWI, which revoked my probation. The max sentence was 180 county jail. My lawyer talked them down to 140 days. On April 17 when I went to court I never left the court room.

JM: Did you have police stop by your house for questioning?
Micah: no

JM: What was your court appearance like?
Micah: I felt like I was only in the court room for 30 minutes. When I went to court I knew I was going to jail. I just didn't know for how long. Since I knew I wasn't leaving. I wore 2 pair white socks, 2 white tshirts, 2 pair of white everything.

did you get released early or did you become a trustee and get out early
